To sum up: young Peter, a London orphan, has left poverty behind to discover Neverland in the company of Tinkerbell. This dream world, populated by fairies, elves, pirates and fabulous creatures, will gradually reveal its dark side as it materializes. Opikanoba, a monster born of fears and lies, prowls the jungle. He is the symbol of the corruption and madness that lurk in the minds of those who forget where they come from. It's here that Peter discovers freedom, but also the cruelty of the world, and begins his transformation into the eternal, rebellious and vain child we all know. In this sequence, Peter, surrounded by mythical creatures, jokes with the young Indian girl Tyomah. The tone is playful, almost childlike, blending humor and enchantment. The scene is bathed in innocent wonder. Here, Loisel celebrates laughter one last time, before Wonderland becomes a land of darkness. It's all told with a dazzling sense of rhythm and framing.
