WILL - Lot 93
WILL TIF AND TONDU Original cover of the Journal de Spirou n° 1948 of August 14, 1975. Signed. India ink on paper 22.1 × 30.4 cm (8.7 × 11.97 in.) Very nice cover by Will, for Aventure birmane, the last Tif & Tondu scripted by Tillieux (1975), adapted from a story of Kid Goliath, a hero that the author of Gil Jourdan had previously created for Heroïc Albums in 1947 and which only had one episode. Will has no equal when it comes to drawing, with his elegant and refined line, the mangroves where the man-eating tiger is lurking in the shadows. We find here, next to the two heroes, Tif (the bald one) and Tondu (the bearded one), the lovely Kiki, the Countess Amélie d'Yeu, who will fascinate Blutch so much. A classic of the Belgian school.
