Alongside the Betelgeuses of the science-fiction comics constellation, such as Druillet, Moebius and Bilal, Caza figures prominently in the Pilote adventure as much as in that of Métal Hurlant, to which he was a regular contributor. Here we have a demonstration of his skills, inspired by his first SF story for Pilote Mensuel. The presence of the Oms is a direct tribute to French writer Stefan Wul's classic 1957 SF masterpiece, adapted into cartoons by Roland Topor under the title La Planète sauvage.
