A comics enthusiast, co-founder of the Parisian bookshop Temps Futurs, then co-editor-in-chief of Circus and Vécu, Stan Barets took over as head of the French version of Playboy in the late 1980s. One of his first initiatives was to open up the "Strip BD, les dessinateurs déshabillent leurs héroïnes" column to his friends! His buddies? Jean-Claude Mézières, Jacques Tardi, Enki Bilal... and André Juillard! You'll pardon the pun! The famous charm magazine welcomes Laureline, Adèle Blanc-Sec, Jill Bioskop and Ariane in all their finery. André's composition is delicate, erotic and rather unexpected. But don't be fooled into thinking that the heroine of Les 7 Vies de l'Épervier will let herself be dominated. Ariane remains the master of the game and, with one of her legs languidly tucked under the other, challenges you with her direct gaze.
