Despite his work overload, André Juillard never hesitated to compose the complementary images so prized by collectors. These two illustrations, in black & white and color, plunge us into Louise's intimate world. André Juillard's passion for reading began at an early age. A bibliophile father and a school principal grandmother who kept her prize-winning works for good pupils close at hand were certainly no strangers to the subject. Like her creator, Louise is also an avid reader, even if she doesn't seem to pay much attention to the book object as such. On a coffee table, we see a newspaper folded in four, a photo magazine and two unidentified titles. Near the sofa, a small piece of furniture holds two slightly tired volumes. On the floor, the famous blue notebook seems carelessly discarded. Curled up on the sofa, the young woman stopped reading her latest work for a moment, lost in thought.
