Cabu was the leading figure at Charlie Hebdo. He was murdered along with his comrades on January 7, 2015 during a shootout by some humorless low-life Islamists. This drawing sums up the artist's career, between the high-schooler Le Grand Duduche created for Pilote and his press cartoons. Goscinny said of him: "When Cabu came to see me, with his slightly gauche attitude of a potache asked to report to the principal's office, I thought we were well on the way to a session of: "You're not lacking in aptitude for this profession, however...". But when I saw the first drawing he took out of his box, I knew right away that this was a designer to be remembered."
