Plessix - Lot 192
Plessix MICHEL PLESSIX THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS L'Échappée belle (T.3), Delcourt 1999 Original plate no. 8 accompanied by its watercolor on paper. Graphite on paper 42 × 29.5 cm (16.54 × 11.61 in.) Coloring: 21.3 × 26 cm "It's a novel with the same status as Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland," says Michel Plessix of Kenneth Grahame's work, whose novel he adapts here as a comic strip. The first two became famous thanks in no small part to their adaptation by Walt Disney. The Wind in the Willows is definitely Michel Plessix's work, as the finesse of his drawing and the subtlety of his colors are confirmed page after page. From a pencil drawing, we obtain a "coloring blue" that allows us to scan the color without altering the black. The faun depicted here has the features of Pierre Dubois, the famous elficologist and author of the seminal Encyclopédie des lutins.
