Jonas accompanies Dr. Prairie to Hillstone in search of surgical instruments. Two large squares magnify their ride, while two very tight framings in the center throw us into their conversation, culminating in not one, but two aphorisms. Because here, everything comes in pairs: a pair of riders, two large frames, two small frames... and two superb contrasts between the darkness of the ground and the lightness of the sky, as well as between Jonas, the dark one, and Randolph Prairie. This page was a moment of intense pleasure for me. We leave the suffocating atmosphere of Eaden City with horses in action in the midst of exuberant nature. R.M.
