Will's sketches are often odes to femininity. It's no coincidence: that tanned complexion, that dark hair, that lanky silhouette, those velvet eyes set in black... It's almost always, sometimes multiplied, the portrait of Claude Maltaite, his wife and lifelong inspiration and muse. This wash with tender brushstrokes, in a beautiful large format, captures the impression of happiness and relaxation that the artist experienced at his wife's side.
