Gradimir Smudja is undoubtedly one of the best Serbian artists of all time. Trained at the Belgrade Academy, he left Serbia for Switzerland in 1982, made a living from publishing his caricatures and took up a teaching post in Lucca, Italy, where he still lives today. In Vincent and Van Gogh, he perfectly matches the Dutch painter's palette, delivering an astonishing album that offers a different take on the cursed painter of Impressionism. He would later repeat the exercise, this time on Toulouse-Lautrec, with an equally dazzling mastery.
