PLESSIX - Lot 44
PLESSIX MICHEL PLESSIX Original illustration for a Coat-Albret Coat-Albret cider label in 1999. Signed. Watercolor, Indian ink and pastel highlights on paper 28.7 × 22.5 cm (11.3 × 8.86 in.) In the specialized field, we speak of oenography, the collection of drawn labels for wines, spirits or, as here, cider... Michel will produce a few on rare occasions, out of friendship. Mind you, we're not talking just any cider here! We're talking about Coat-Albret, a cidre bouché from Brittany, produced in the Brocéliande region, in Bédée (you can't make that up!), by artisan cider-maker Loïc Berthelot, at a time when people were just beginning to talk about food quality, the origin of food products and terroirs. Crapaud, Taupe and Rat seem to appreciate it!
