JEREMY JÉRÉMY ◊ BARRACUDA Cicatrices (T.2),... - Lot 146 - Daniel Maghen Enchères et Expertises
JEREMY JÉRÉMY ◊ BARRACUDA Cicatrices (T.2), Dargaud 2011 Original cover. Signed. India ink and inks on paper 60.8 × 40 cm (23.94 × 15.75 in.) Succeeding Delaby on Murena and La Complainte des Landes Perdues, Jérémy was already well acquainted with scriptwriter Jean Dufaux when they collaborated on Barracuda. From historical narratives to fantasy and pirate stories, Jérémy is a goldsmith when it comes to genre literature. For his pirates, Jérémy perpetuates a tradition of pirate illustration, inspired by illustrators such as Howard Pyle and Louis Rhead. This portrait of Blackdog, captain of the Barracuda, illustrates all the darkness of the character, whose inextinguishable greed will lead to his downfall. Blackdog is the central figure of the series, as fearsome as he is ugly. Impressive!
