The script follows in the footsteps of the man who was one of the best writer/dialoguists of his time. The running gag technique, peppered with the author's words, is perfectly at work here, even though the exchange of information in this sequence is fundamentally perfunctory. It's all in the lines between the characters, a quality that has led to Tillieux being described as "the Audiard of the 9th art".
