The Thorgal series is the product of the meeting of two geniuses: first, Jean Van Hamme, a scriptwriting genius who, skilfully blending Norse mythology with a dash of science fiction, manages to write tightly-packed sequences in which the pace never falters, yet the stakes remain luminously simple. Then there's the genius of Rosinski, whose drawing is original and modern, very different from the "Franco-Belgian style". The strength of this page lies in the play of fields against fields, accentuated by the use of different focal points. This allows us to appreciate the risk taken by the archer in shooting from this distance, in an attempt to free the keeper of the keys, imprisoned by the evil - and unfortunately immortal - Nidhogg snake. Such mastery of storytelling is unique.
