India ink on paper 31 × 42 cm (12.2 × 16.54 in.) Tillieux's work is highly effective. Firstly, in the often ingenious construction of the plot, which requires the reader to gather clues in order to understand. Here, the hero does just that, in complicity with the reader. Then there's the way the circumstances are set up: once the suspicion of the protagonists, who have taken refuge in a bow window to keep their conversation confidential, has been exposed, the hero literally falls on them. This leads to one of Tillieux's signature lines: "If I felt like it, I'd laugh. Only he could come up with that, and give a Light Suspense story such depth.
