DE MOOR
BOB DE MOOR Le Lombard Original cover of Journal de Tintin Belge No. 43, special 40th anniversary issue, October 21, 1986. India ink on paper 57.5 × 44.5 cm (22.64 × 17.52 in.) In 1951, Bob De Moor (1925-1992) was Hergé's first assistant, following in the footsteps of Edgar P. Jacobs. He was the right-hand man of the master of the Brussels School, producing a body of work of his own alongside his studio work, until the death of Tintin's creator in 1983. He then took over the second volume of Blake & Mortimer: Les 3 Formules du Professeur Sato, in 1989, while Edgar P. Jacobs was still alive. Three years earlier, he produced this cover for the 40th anniversary of the Journal Tintin. It features Tintin and Snowy, as well as some of Hergé's other characters, such as the Dupondts, Jo, Zette and Jocko, Quick & Flupke and Agent 22. But above all, it features all the weekly's heroes for ages 7 to 77, from the 4 sons of Aymon de Laudy, to Blake and Mortimer, Corentin and many others. Can you recognize them?
