Grand Council Powathan... English settlers have just landed on the shores of Virginia, posing a growing threat to the natives of the region. In this plate, the challenge was to give the scene real authenticity. Chief Powathan stands on his rock, dominating the assembly of his warriors. The problem was the choice of framing. Give dynamism to a long static moment. Opt for the right angle, either by focusing on the charismatic Indians, or by moving away from the scene with wide panoramic shots. I hope I've succeeded. Watercolor would do the rest, adding the "music" to the film... Patrick Prugne
