Célestine is so happy! She goes back and forth between the meadow and the house, dropping off flowers galore. This time, she'd like Ernest to clear them away, because the basin on the ground is overflowing and the floor is already well overgrown. But Ernest doesn't seem to be in much of a hurry. He's all stillness and hesitation, torn between admonishment for Célestine who, once again, has disappeared without warning, and a certain amusement at knowing what else she's going to invent for him to use all those flowers for.
