SERON
PIERRE SERON THE LITTLE MEN Original cover. The planes were realized on separate supports affixed on the original. Accompanied by its indications of color to the colored pencils on tracing paper. Signed. India ink and blue pencil on paper 25.3 × 35.2 cm (9.96 × 13.86 in.) Color indications: 22.8 × 31.5cm (8.97 × 12.4 in.) Pierre Seron (1942-2017) has long been underestimated, yet he is one of the most solid cartoonists who have left their mark on Le Journal de Spirou, for which he has produced a good number of albums. He is a pure product of the Liège School of Comics, from which artists like Mittéi, Greg, Walthéry or Dany came. It is moreover this last one, a fellow student at Saint-Luc, who will recommend him to Mittéï, of whom he will become the assistant on series like Modeste and Pompon or the decorations of Ric Hochet, before flying of his own wings. Mittéï is moreover the scriptwriter of this story that he signs under the pseudonym of Hao. Les Petits Hommes is the artist's best-known series (44 albums), a humorous SF saga in which he multiplies his experiments with bonhomie in an execution that is in line with the Belgian school.
