WILL TIF AND TONDU Tif et Tondu against the white hand (T.4), Dupuis 1956 Original plate n° 6, prepublished in the Journal de Spirou n° 874 of January 13, 1955. India ink on paper 35,5 x 48,1 cm (13,98 x 18,94 in.) Magnificent plate, very dynamic, of a historical episode in the saga of Tif et Tondu, since it is the first album where the scriptwriter Maurice Rosy prints his mark on the series, by creating the mythical character of Choc. This plate intervenes besides just at the moment when our heroes, who thought they were arrested by the police, are going to meet him for the first time. Very well constructed - it is said that the first pages of this episode were helped by André Franquin -, this sequence illustrates all the Machiavellianism of Choc who, always at the cutting edge of technology, has boats more powerful than the police ones, and has a secret base hidden from everyone's eyes. A page drawn with unequalled elegance by a Will who reaches the fullness of his talent.
