LEPAGE EMMANUEL LEPAGE L'île Vierge lighthouse, original illustration made in 2020 Signed. Watercolour and dry chalk on paper 72.5 × 53 cm (28.54 × 20.87 in.) At dawn, a seaweed fishing boat is sailing along Île Vierge. The imposing silhouette of Europe's tallest ashlar lighthouse can be seen floating above the sea mist. This drawing, made in December 2020, is part of a series of ten commissioned by the Communauté de Communes des Abers in North Finistère, on the occasion of the restoration of the lighthouse. These illustrations will be the subject of posters, postcards and a permanent exhibition, on the island and travelling to the surrounding communes. A book will probably be published on this occasion. It will bring together these large illustrations as well as It will bring together these large illustrations as well as ten small drawings which will accompany a text on the history of the lighthouses of Brittany and that of the Virgin Island in particular.
