MICHETZ - Lot 58
MICHETZ MARC MICHETZ Kogaratsu, Dupuis Original illustration made in 2005 for a serigraphy Les Guerrières India ink, graphite, and colored pencil on paper 69.8 × 49.8 cm (27.48 × 19.61 in.) Michetz is one of the most impressive Belgian artists of his generation. He has always been a fan of Japanese culture and has always practised martial arts: judo, iaid and also kendo, a discipline which he considers to be a "synthesis" of movement. Marc Michetz's drawings are remarkably well felt and documented. Anatomies and gestures, especially of female characters, are precise, the folds of their clothes fall just right. A virtuoso draftsman in the tradition of Paul Cuvelier.
