India ink and colored inks on paper 29.5 × 42 cm (11.61 × 16.54 in.) When Barbara Canepa and I launched the Sky-Doll project, we had no idea we'd be starting a minor revolution. Our Noa quickly traveled the world, conquering first Europe, then the USA, all the way to China and Japan. By simply blending our respective tastes and influences, we created a work that has influenced a generation of artists, graphic designers and film-makers. In this panel, which is particularly important to me, Noa violently confronts her co-protagonists in what constitutes the emotional climax of Volume 1. Through her android eyes, Noa questions the very foundations of her existence and the world around her. Alessandro Barbucci
