MANCHU - Lot 150
MANCHU Atmospheric Entry, original illustration created in 2023. Signed. Acrylic on paper 120 × 80 cm (47.24 × 31.5 in.) The draftsman and designer Manchu, a child of the 2001: A Space Odyssey generation, is truly one of the most influential science-fiction artists of our time. He first came on the radar when Gérard Klein, the legendary editor of the Ailleurs et Demain collection at Editions Lattès, now publisher of Livre de Poche, asked him to illustrate most of the label's SF covers. He also worked as a designer on two legendary Franco-Japanese cartoon co-productions: Ulysse 31 and Il était une fois l'espace. Since then, he has produced numerous futuristic illustrations, part of a long line of illustrators who are prodigious exponents of the imaginary, from Albert Robida to Chris Foss.
