AUBIN - Lot 83
AUBIN ANTOINE AUBIN BLAKE AND MORTIMER Eight hours in Berlin (T.29), Blake and Mortimer 2022 Original plate n° 15. Signed. India ink on paper 44.8 × 32.4 cm (17.64 × 12.76 in.) This plate evokes the cab sequence in The Sunflower Affair, of course. The intelligence officer Frutiger alluded to the Cornavin Hotel in the previous plate. I adapted the scenario a little to give myself the pleasure of having my characters drive on exactly the same road as Tintin, ten years earlier, but in the other direction. Box 5, I refer the perceptive reader to the cover of The Dead Man's Lake, by Maurice Tillieux, as a word/drawing game. As in L'Affaire Tournesol, the crash is left to the reader's imagination. Antoine Aubin
