160 artworks featuring historic and contemporary comic art and illustrations will be displayed at this sale.
The auction will have a strong start with the original cover of Grand Pouvoir du Chninkel by Grzegorz Rosinski, a mythical piece which was stolen and then returned to its creator, and is estimated at 70 000 to 80 000 euros. It will be followed by magnificent original artworks from Thorgal that may be found in major comic book albums of this famous series created with Jean Van Hamme: La Magicienne trahie, Au-delà des ombres, Louve.
The sale will continue with a selection of artworks by the talented artist Ralph Meyer, whose pieces were gathered in a special catalog. Twenty three pieces will be displayed, including original artworks and illustrations from his best-seller Undertaker (scriptwriter Xavier Dorison).
The second catalog will be dedicated to the Italian masters of eroticism and will contain twenty eight historic pieces, including the original artworks from iconic albums by Milo Manara (Le Déclic, El Gaucho, Un été indien, Gulliveriana, Le Parfum de l'invisible…), by Crepax and Serpieri (Druuna).
Last, the auction will present the great masters of comic art and illustration. Among others, it will feature a superb artwork of Tintin by Hergé, which is based on the comic art album On a marché sur la Lune (1952) and estimated at 70 000 to 80 000 euros, as well as a magnificent illustration by André Franquin de Gaston (1969). Exceptional artworks by Batem, Franck Bonnet, Brüno, Coyote, Jean-Claude Denis, Christophe Dubois, Benjamin Flao, Philippe Francq, Jean-Pierre Gibrat, Juan Gimenez, Gotlib, Hermann, Homs, Marc Jailloux, Philippe Jarbinet, Pierre Joubert, André Juillard, Benjamin Lacombe, Olivier Ledroit, Emmanuel Lepage, Manchu, Ana Mirallès, Mœbius, Jean-Louis Mourier, Patrice Pellerin, Michel Plessix, Hugo Pratt, Patrick Prugne, Ptiluc, Riff Reb’s, Jean-Marc Rochette, Roger, Olivier Schwartz, Joann Sfar, Stefano Carloni, Jacques Tardi, Tibet, William Vance, Yoann and Yslaire will also be presented.

HOW TO BID
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the auction will be held live only and without an audience. You will be able to register purchase orders, bid by phone or online.
On the Internet
By using Drouot Live platform, you will be able to follow the auction in live video and place online bids on your computer. All you need to do is go to drouotonline.com website, log in or create an account, and then register for the Comics & illustration auction.
Purchase order
You may register one or several purchase orders by giving us a maximum bid for each lot (the amount stated corresponding to the maximum price for which you wish to bid, excluding buyers fees). To deposit an order, you can send us a request by email to the following address: contact@danielmaghenencheres.com. You will also be able to register your purchase orders directly on the website : danielmaghen-encheres.com.
By phone
If you wish to bid by phone during the auction, simply send your request by email to the address: contact@danielmaghenencheres.com stating the lots that you are interested in, the phone number where we can reach you as well as your bank details. Phone bidding is a free service offered to customers who are not able to attend the auction.
